The VCS Safeguarding Steering Group is co-ordinated by Young Lives Bradford and is a recognised group on the BSCB structure. The group meets bi-monthly and brings together the local BSCB VCS representatives and other individuals interested in VCS Safeguarding. Membership is open to anyone working in a safeguarding role or who has an interest in Safeguarding. See Terms of reference VCS Safeguarding steering group for details.
We welcome any items or safeguarding issues people would like to bring to the attention of the group or for clarification on guidance and practice issues. Issues can be raised by contacting the Young Lives Bradford team or directly with the VCS representatives who sit on the subgroups of the Board by emailing email@example.com or by contacting our VCS reps directly.

Safeguarding Audit Tool
Bradford Council has a duty under Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 to ensure organisations they commission have adequate Safeguarding procedures in place.
To do this they will be asking commissioned groups to complete a new provider safeguarding audit tool. It is likely NHS commissioners will also be using the tool for commissioned groups.
Young Lives Bradford is encouraging all VCS organisations to use this tool for self-improvement and revision of their safeguarding arrangements. This tool can be used to demonstrate your organisation complies with current safeguarding requirements.
The NSPCC also provide safeguarding resources for organisations.
